Rowe Appointed to NCA Consulting Position

Athens, W.Va. - Dr. Stephen D. Rowe, Director of the J. Frank Marsh Library of Concord College has been notified by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools that he has been appointed to a five-year term to the Commission's Consultant-Evaluator Corps.

Rowe has been the Library Director at Concord College since July 1998 and has been an NCA Consultant-Evaluator since 1985. Since 1993, he has been chairing institutional accreditation teamwork for the NCA, and by this appointment he will continue this professional extracurricular work through 2006.

As an NCA Consultant-Evaluator, Dr. Rowe participates in the institutional accreditation of colleges and universities associated with the North Central Association. The largest of the regional accreditation agencies in the United States, the North Central Association currently accredits over 800 colleges and universities.

Concord College is accredited by the North Central Association, having undergone its last accreditation review in 1997. Other faculty or staff members at Concord who also serve as NCA Consultant-Evaluators include Dr. Jerry Beasley, president of the College and Dr. April Puzzouli, associate vice president for academic affairs.
