Reed Scheduled to Perform Senior Voice Recital Thurs., May 8

Athens, W.Va. – Concord University senior J. Nicole Reed from Giles, Va., will perform her senior voice recital Thursday, May 8, 2008, at 7 p.m. in the H.C. Paul Theater in the Alexander Fine Arts Center.

Reed will perform a range of high level material from the classics of Mozart and Bach, to the 20th century compositions of Stephen Sondheim and minimalist John Adams. Dave Porter, first chair trumpet in the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra and adjunct professor of music, will accompany Reed in a piece by Handel. Linda Hawkins, adjunct professor of music and Reed's personal voice teacher, will perform a duet alongside her student.

After graduation, Reed plans to further her education while continuing to perform and teach.
