Concord University Launching McDowell County Initiative

Athens, W.Va. – Concord University will kick off its McDowell County Initiative on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 at the Marquee Cinemas in Welch. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

The McDowell County Initiative is an effort to promote higher education opportunities provided by Concord University in McDowell County and Mercer County. Area high school students interested in pursuing a post-secondary degree are invited to Saturday’s event along with their families.
