‘Warm Morning Coat Drive’ Underway At Concord University

For Immediate Release:
Sep 27 2012

Temperatures are cooling down, colorful leaves are falling from the trees, and autumn has arrived. Winter isn’t far behind.

Imagine facing the chilly weather and winter storms without an adequate coat.

For many area residents, that is the case. You can help your neighbors by donating to the “Warm Morning Coat Drive” now underway on the Concord University campus. Winter coats are needed for infants through adults.

The coat drive is an annual project of WVVA-Television and this year Concord University is a sponsor and collection point for coats. Three big boxes are waiting on the Athens campus to be filled with donated coats. You can drop off your donation at the Student Center, the Carter Center gym, or outside of the President’s Office in the Administration Building.

Coats will be collected now through the end of October. They will be distributed to residents in WVVA’s nine-county viewing area by non-profit organizations.
