ATHENS, W.Va. - The Concord University music department is presenting the third annual Faculty Recital on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012. It will be held in the Alexander Fine Arts Center in the Main Auditorium at 7 p.m. The Fine Arts Center is located on Concord’s campus at 1000 Vermillion Street in Athens, W.Va.

The musicians will be playing 20th century music as well as some pieces personally composed by Concord professors. The pieces range from accompanied horn, trombone, voice, and clarinet to small ensembles and percussion mini-theater.

Instructor Casey Cangelosi is one of Concord’s talented faculty members that will be performing. Cangelosi will be showing of his percussion skills by performing his snare drum piece entitled “Meditation No. 1” which was commissioned by Majestic Drum Company in 2011.

This event is open to all Concord students, faculty and staff as well as the general public. There is no admission fee. In addition, this performance will count for recital credit for Concord music majors. For more information contact Dr. Laura Zamzow at (304)-384-6090 or via email at
