Concord University Welcomes New Faculty
CONCORD UNIVERSITY WELCOMES NEW FACULTY
ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University is announcing the addition of five new faculty members for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Dr. David R. Ball joins the faculty as Assistant Professor of Music/Director of Bands. Ball, who has been teaching at Concord on an adjunct basis, received a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech. He also holds a M.M. from the University of Manchester, England, and a D.M.A. from the University of Minnesota.
Ms. Annette Y. Brichford is a Lecturer in English. A resident of Princeton, W.Va., Brichford has taught at Concord in the past. She earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Utah.
Ms. Eva C. Lyon is a Lecturer in Geology and Physical Sciences. Lyon comes to Concord from Gallipolis, Ohio and started teaching at Concord during the Spring 2013 semester. She holds a bachelor’s degree from The College of Wooster, and a master’s degree from Utah State University.
Dr. Laura M. Parker is an Assistant Professor of Social Work. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and received both a M.S.W. and Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Parker comes to Concord University from Columbia, Mo.
Dr. Kathryn J. Tucker is an Assistant Professor of Special Education. From Lubbock, Texas, Tucker earned a B.M.E. from Wartburg College; M.Ed. from West Texas A & M University; and, Ed.D. from Texas Tech University.
