Towers Renovation Groundbreaking Ceremony To Be Held At Concord University

ATHENS, W.Va. – A groundbreaking ceremony will be held for the Towers Renovation project at Concord University on Friday, April 22, 2016. The program will begin at 2 p.m. on the Towers Patio.

The ceremony is part of the Founders’ Day Festival events at Concord. CU faculty, staff and students and members of the community are invited to attend.

The North and South Towers residence halls were built in 1968 and consist of 173,500 square feet. Among the work being completed is demolition of building exterior wall panels; thermal-moisture protection; new interior finishes; new windows; new bathrooms; upgrades in mechanical and electrical systems including the addition of air conditioning for the residence hall rooms; new roofs; and, a state-of-the-art Wi-Fi network.

The Founders’ Day Festival debuts this year as Concord University celebrates 144 Years of Excellence. The festival is being held Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23 on Concord’s Athens campus.
