ATHENS, W.Va. – “Will you answer the call?” That’s the challenge being issued by the Concord University Foundation during the month of June.

With the 630 Challenge, the Foundation is asking alumni, donors and friends of Concord University to help wrap up the fiscal year and the Annual Campaign with participation in a fun and easy way of giving.

The money raised during the Annual Campaign is used for scholarships and other campus projects.

The goal of the 630 Challenge is to encourage at least 630 donors to give a minimum of $5 before June 30.

“We are calling on all Concord alumni, donors and friends to help us succeed in the 630 Challenge. This is a fun way to get everyone to support our University and wrap up the academic and fiscal year on a positive note,” said Alicia Besenyei, Vice President for Advancement.

Donor support is extremely important to Concord students in their pursuit of a degree and in continuing to deliver the excellent education that has become the University’s tradition.

“Our students and campus community rely heavily on the generosity of our donors,” Besenyei said. “We are hoping everyone will dig deep, contribute and help our University end the 2016 Annual Campaign by giving back.”

Along with simple ways to contribute like online giving and text giving, social media outreach, crowdfunding and a phone-a-thon are also encouraging donors to get on the 630 Challenge bandwagon.

The phone-a-thon is scheduled for June 20, 21, 27 and 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each evening. Student volunteers will be calling alumni, previous donors and University friends and asking them to accept the 630 Challenge.

“I can’t stress enough how thankful we are for the kindness many have shown throughout the year and for those who will be giving through the 630 Challenge,” Besenyei said.

Online giving may be completed by visiting: http://www.concord.edu/cufoundation/630by630 Donors can also participate by texting “GIVE” to 1-304-370-4111.
