CONCORD UNIVERSITY THEATRE DEPARTMENT
TO PRESENT ‘OPENED MAIL’
ATHENS, W.Va. – You’ve got mail! The Concord University Theatre Department will be performing a Readers Theatre production of “Opened Mail” at Concord University on Thursday, Feb. 23 and Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. in the H.C. Paul Theatre of the Alexander Fine Arts Center.
With nine hilarious different stories, “Opened Mail” is a Readers Theatre production performed through letters. From two nuns who are not speaking to each other, to a woman writing to a prisoner in jail, to an alternative view of George Washington, the play is a fun and comical evening of entertainment. Fourteen student and community members will perform these stories.
Readers Theatre is an interpretive reading of a script. The sets and costumes are minimal and actors read their lines in a dramatic manner. Written by Jules Tasca and directed by Karen Vuranch, this hilarious play is recommended for adult audiences only.
There is no admission charge for the performance. However, donations will be accepted for the Fine Arts Banquet. Concord students, faculty, staff, and members of the community are encouraged to attend.
For additional information, contact Karen Vuranch at firstname.lastname@example.org or (304) 384-5259.
Brianna Duckworth, a Concord University student who is a Communication Arts major with an emphasis in public relations and theatre, wrote this release. Brianna is from Beckley, W.Va.
