ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University will host its inaugural Honor Band Feb. 1-2, 2019. During these two days, 120 middle and high school band students from around the surrounding area will be on campus preparing music for a concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2. The concert will be held in the Alexander Fine Arts Center Main Auditorium.


The students will be divided into a high school band and a middle school band composed of 60 members each. Dr. David Ball, director of bands at Concord, will direct the high school band, and CU alumna, Christa Fama will be guest conducting the middle school band. She is the band director at Shady Spring Middle School.


The general public is invited to attend the concert for $3 per person. Concord students, faculty and staff, and children 5 and under may attend the concert at no charge.
