CONCORD UNIVERSITY STUDENTS RALLYING AT STATE CAPITOL
AGAINST THE CAMPUS SELF DEFENSE ACT
ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University students are joining college and university students from across the state for a rally against House Bill 2519, The Campus Self Defense Act, at the West Virginia State Capitol on Monday, March 4. The Concord students are planning to be at the capitol at 9 a.m.
Concord Student Government Association (SGA) President Haley Fields said students are planning to “show up in force” in an attempt to make their voices heard to state legislators.
Concord’s SGA passed a resolution opposing the passage of the campus carry bill that “encourages the state legislature to vote no on HB 2519.”
Concord students who are interested in traveling to Charleston on Monday to participate in the rally should meet in front of the Student Center on the Athens campus at 7 a.m.
Persons with disabilities should contact Nancy Ellison, 1-304-384-6086 or 1-800-344-6679 extension 6086
if special assistance is required for access to an event scheduled by the University on campus.
