Athens, W.Va. – Mr. David E. Shumate, employed at the J. Frank Marsh Library at Concord University since October 2001, has recently completed the Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree with a concentration in archival studies from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.

“Completion of any academic credit in an online mode requires unusual diligence and self-discipline, so having done his master’s degree program via UWM’s online offering is particularly noteworthy,” stated Dr. Stephen D. Rowe, director of the J. Frank Marsh Library and professor of English. “Moreover, the library science program at UWM is in the top 10 in the nation according to the American Library Association.”
