Concord Alumni Career Symposium Slated For Friday, Oct. 16

Athens, W.Va. - Concord University’s Advancement/Career Services Office will connect current students with alumni during the first Alumni Career Symposium Friday, Oct.16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Throughout the day, Concord graduates will go into different classes for panel presentations. The symposium will allow students to talk with alumni and make important business connections that can be used in obtaining internships or jobs. So far, 47 alumni are scheduled to participate.

The event theme, “Concord Graduates March to the Beat of Many Different Drummers,” is illustrated in the career fields represented at the symposium. Students will have the opportunity to meet alumni pursuing varied career paths from entrepreneurs, geographers, doctors, and lawyers to journalists, pharmacists, social workers, and educators.

“Our graduates have gained a lot of wisdom through work and life experience,” Tammy Monk, director of advancement/career services, said. “Students will have an opportunity to gain knowledge about succeeding in life after Concord and alumni will be able to reconnect with Concord while making new connections with current students.”
