Annual High School Geography Bowl Taking Place At Concord University
ANNUAL HIGH SCHOOL GEOGRAPHY BOWL
TAKING PLACE AT CONCORD UNIVERSITY
ATHENS, W.Va. - The 11th Annual High School Geography Bowl will be held at Concord University in Athens on Saturday, March 9. The event is hosted by the West Virginia Geographic Alliance.
The following schools will be participating: Defending champion Wheeling Park, Capital, George Washington, Sissonville, Lincoln County, Pocahontas County, Webster County, PikeView, Princeton, Wyoming East, Westside, Van, Scott, Independence, Shady Spring, Woodrow Wilson, Ritchie County and Moorefield.
Each student participant will be offered a $500 scholarship by Concord University. The high scorer will be offered a full-scholarship. The 2nd and 3rd place scorers will receive substantial scholarship offers.
The program begins with opening remarks at 8:15 a.m. in the student center at Concord University. A round-robin competition will be held until noon.
Following lunch, the championship round will begin at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the student center ballroom. The Honorable John Shott, member of the WV House of Delegates, will read the championship round.
