Entertainment Announced For Athens-Concord Town Social

ATHENS, W.Va. – Entertainment for the upcoming Athens-Concord Town Social is being provided by two area groups new to the annual event.

Country Pride featuring Jim and Patsy Croy will take the stage first followed by Allen Smith and Ronnii Joplin.

A favorite regional band, Country Pride performs bluegrass and gospel. Allen Smith and Ronnii Joplin play instrumental jazz/soul/r&b. Based in southern West Virginia, they have been performing together for seven years.

The Town Social, now in its 27th year, will be held on the front lawn of Concord University Sunday, Aug. 11 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Theme for 2013 is “A Neighborly Scene in 2013.”

Along with live musical entertainment, the gathering features children’s games, free admission, craft vendors, informational displays and a complimentary hot dog meal.

Individuals, along with a local business, who have enhanced community and campus life, will be honored during the festivities.
