Concord University Music Faculty Holding Recital
ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University music faculty will be performing in recital on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. on the Athens campus located at 1000 Vermillion St. in Athens, W.Va. The recital will be held in the Alexander Fine Arts Center’s Main Auditorium.
Many different genres will be represented at the recital. The event will include pieces from the Romantic and Baroque eras, as well as more contemporary pieces. Casey Cangelosi, an instructor of music, will premiere a piece he composed using special lighting. The event will also include a multimedia piece written for piano and boom box.
Laurel Black, who is an adjunct professor of music, will be performing the selection. “I’m really excited to perform the piece because I love the topic,” she says. Recitals like these provide the faculty with the opportunity to perform. Black explains, “We’re all teachers, but we all enjoy performing as well.” Each member of the music faculty will be performing.
Admission is free and is open to the public. The music department encourages faculty, staff, students and the community to attend.
