ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University will be hosting “Spooktacular” which consists of a concert, costume contest and a haunted hall at 8 p.m. in the Main Auditorium of the Fine Arts Center on Friday, Oct 31.

David Ball, assistant music professor at Concord University and the coordinator of the “Spooktacular” event, said, “The haunted hall has been a fundraiser by the [Concord] students for many years, but this is the first time we’ve had a concert in collaboration with the event.”

Ball said, “The concert will be short and fun… I suspect there will be some interesting costumes for the competition and the hall is always creepy! [It] should be a great way to start one’s Halloween festivities.”

Concord’s faculty and students anticipate a positive turn out. Ball said, “We hope to have about 500 people attend.”

Ball added, “The music will consist of different styles and ensembles including the ConChords, Collegiate Singers, Concert Band, and solo performances by faculty and students.”

All of the money that is raised from the event will be donated to the music department at the university.

Ticket prices will be $5 per person and everyone is welcome to attend. For any questions about the event please contact David Ball at balld@concord.edu. To make reservations contact the Box Office at (304)-384-5101 or visit www.cuboxoffice.com
