Wellness Fairs Being Held On Concord University’s Athens And Beckley Campuses

ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University’s Athens and Beckley campuses are hosting wellness fairs for the CU community and the general public.  There is no admission charge at either event.

Flu shots will be offered at both locations. Persons interested in receiving a flu shot should bring their insurance information with them and/or be prepared to pay.

The fair at the Beckley location will be held today (Tuesday, Oct. 28) from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Erma Byrd Higher Education Center, 300 University Drive, Beaver, W.Va. Joining Concord in sponsoring the event are Bluefield State College and Marshall University.

Services offered include glucose and blood pressure checks, vision screenings and spinal screenings. Guests wearing Halloween costumes will be eligible to enter a drawing for a $25 gift card.

The wellness fair in Athens will be held on Thursday Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.

Representatives from area health and wellness organizations, along with campus groups, will have displays and other information. Exhibit topics range from fitness and exercise to counseling and disease prevention.

Healthy snacks will be provided and participants will have an opportunity to win a refrigerator stocked with healthy food (food courtesy of Aramark.)
