This is the fourth year Concord students have assisted with the event according to Concord sociology instructor Lori Pace. She said organizers of the competition, now in its fourth year, consider the Concord students’ volunteer efforts an important part of its success.

The races will be held at the Woodrow Wilson High School track in Beckley, W.Va.

Race day registration and packet pickup begins at 7 a.m. The 10K starts at 9 a.m. followed by the 5K Run at 10:30 a.m. and 5K Walk at 10:35 a.m.

Information and registration sheets for the Fun Run are being provided to every elementary school in Raleigh County. Registration for the Fun Run is free. The children’s event will begin after the adult races at approximately 12:30 p.m. Every child gets a participation ribbon.
