ATHENS, W. Va. – Continuing with its goal of presenting the best of modern drama, Concord University’s Theatre Department will showcase Beth Henley’s “Crimes of the Heart” Wednesday, April 22nd through Saturday, April 25th at 7 p.m. each evening in the H.C. Set in Hazelhurst, Miss., the play chronicles the lives of the McGrath sisters. Meg, the eldest, who just gave up her singing career; Lennie, who still lives at home; and Babe, the youngest, who just shot her husband. The sisters reunite to face the challenges and consequences that lie ahead.

“Crimes of the Heart” is “[the] masterwork of one of America’s most respected women playwrights, Beth Henley” according to Dr. Gambill, head of Concord’s theatre program. The Concord production will feature Kayla Jordan, Hanna Wood, Brooklyn Clemons, Christin Walker, and Jordan Tuck.

Concord University faculty, staff and students will be admitted to the show free of charge with a validated Concord University identification card. General admission is $5. Due to special staging restrictions, audience numbers for “Crimes of the Heart” are limited and reservations are strongly recommended.

Reservations can be made online through or by calling the Concord University Box Office at 304-384-5101. Tickets can be picked up before the show at the Concord University Box Office located in the Alexander Fine Arts Center.  Reservations will be released at 6:45 p.m. each night of the show.
