ACLU Of West Virginia Presenting ‘Know Your Rights’ Program At Concord University

ATHENS, W.Va. – The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of West Virginia will visit Concord University on Tuesday, Oct. 20 for a presentation entitled “Know Your Rights.” The program begins at 6 p.m. in Room 304 of the Rahall Technology Center on Concord’s Athens campus.

The presentation will include a discussion of some of the ACLU’s work in West Virginia and will provide training and education on several areas of the organization’s work including:

            • Individual Rights When Interacting With Law Enforcement
            • LGBT Rights
            • Title IV and Sexual Assault
            • Transgender Student Rights

The goal of the ACLU of West Virginia is to educate and empower West Virginians to stand up for their rights by arming them with the knowledge and training to do so effectively and respectfully.

This presentation is hosted by the ACLU of West Virginia and Concord University’s Women’s and Gender Studies Program.

There is no admission charge for this event and the community is invited to attend.
