ATHENS, W.Va. The Concord University Jazz Ensemble will present another JAMS or Jazz at the Monday Spot concert on Nov. 16 from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Subway Sides on the bottom floor of the Jerry L. and Jean Beasley Student Center. The Student Center is located on Concord’s Athens, W.Va. campus at 1000 Vermillion Street.

The jazz ensemble will perform various musical standards like “Blue Skies” and “Come Fly with Me” featuring Concord University vocalist Allie Whitener.

Dr. David Ball, Professor of Music and Director of the Jazz Ensemble, says, “Last year we did a series of concerts called JAMS. These performances provide an opportunity for the jazz ensemble to showcase the music they’ve been working on in class.”

Dr. Ball said the concerts are informal and participation by attendees is both welcomed and encouraged.

“Please come sing, dance, socialize, eat your dinner and/or study while you watch and listen,” he said.

The next JAMS concert will be during the spring semester.

These concerts are free and open to public. Concord students, faculty and staff, along with members of the community are invited to attend. For more information, contact Dr. David Ball at (304) 384-6090 or email at
