CONCORD UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
DEVELOP MARKETING PLAN FOR LOCAL RESTAURANT
ATHENS, W.Va. – A class of Concord University students is working this semester to help a local business.
Students in Steve Barrett’s sports marketing class have developed a public relations and marketing plan for Moe’s Restaurant & Café located in Athens. Moe’s opened at 5811 South State Street (Rt. 20) last fall. The restaurant specializes in American, Greek and Italian cuisine.
Barrett said the 21 students in his class developed the plan utilizing the four Ps of marketing – product, price, promotion and place. He said that while his class is a sports marketing class, the principles “apply across the board” and are useful in marketing for a restaurant.
The class is presenting the plan at the restaurant on Friday, Feb. 19 at 11:30 a.m.
