ATHENS, W.Va. – Five Concord University students are presenting their work in a senior exhibition in the Arthur Butcher Art Gallery on Concord’s Athens campus March 28 through April 19.

Featured artists include Megan Ray, Chloe Barber, Heather Webb, Bethany Sigman and Aaron Isner.

An artists reception is being held Thursday, April 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the gallery which is located in the Alexander Fine Arts Center. The Concord community and the general public are invited to attend at no charge.

“This event is important for all art students as it marks the end of an undergraduate Art degree and allows students to express their ideas and show the skills they have acquired during their time at Concord,” Ray said. “The opening reception is a great time and place to let all of our peers, family members, and others in the community see the work we have done.”

“Each student has created their own individual series that tells a story important to them and most likely to the ones attending as well,” she said.

The title of Ray’s senior capstone art exhibition is “Harmless, Great Thing.”

“It is a social awareness series on saving the elephants and putting an end to illegal poaching and trophy hunting,” she said. “My pieces are oil paintings.”
