CONCORD UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION ESTABLISHES FUND
TO ASSIST CU STUDENTS AFFECTED BY RECENT FLOODING
ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University Foundation has established a fund to aid Concord students affected by the recent flooding in West Virginia.
Donations generated from the Foundation’s 630 Challenge during the month of June have been designated to initially fund the account.
“We are thankful to everyone who gave to the 630 Challenge. While these donations were originally going into the annual fund, we think establishing this disaster relief fund is a more appropriate use of these monies at this time,” said Alicia Besenyei, Vice President for Advancement.
“We know that those affected by the recent flooding are facing many challenges and we hope that the assistance provided through this new fund will help ease the burden for our students in those areas and ensure their return to campus in August,” she said.
Concord’s Admissions and Financial Aid offices will identify those students who qualify for assistance.
Donations are currently being accepted for the fund and may be made online at: http://www.concord.edu/cufoundation/630by630 Donors can also participate by texting “GIVE” to 1-304-370-4111.
For additional information about contributing to the fund email email@example.com or call 304-384-6056.
Persons with disabilities should contact Nancy Ellison, 1-304-384-6086 or 1-800-344-6679 extension 6086
if special assistance is required for access to an event scheduled by the University on campus.
