ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University’s Stuff the Bus is partnering with 96.1 The Wolf and 580 WCHS again this year to collect school supplies for Kanawha County children in need.

Donations are being collected at the Walmart (Southridge Center) in South Charleston, W.Va. on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“All the supplies we collect will be donated to the Kanawha County Board of Education to distribute to those with the most need,” said Concord’s Stuff the Bus organizer Pam Wallace. “We are asking the community to donate school supplies such as pens, pencils, notebooks, backpacks and any item a kid would need to have a successful year.”

This is the fourth year Concord has participated in Stuff the Bus, assisting children across southern West Virginia. Thanks to the generosity of individuals and businesses, school supplies have been provided to students in Raleigh, Fayette, Summers, Mercer, Wyoming and Kanawha counties.

CU’s Stuff the Bus, 96.1 The Wolf and 580 WCHS teamed up in 2015 to launch the Kanawha County collection drive.

“We look forward to returning to Kanawha County and working with 96.1 The Wolf and 580 WCHS to provide kids with the tools they need to have a successful school year,” Wallace said.
