CONCORD UNIVERSITY INTRODUCES PRESIDENT’S BALL

AS PART OF FOUNDERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University, in honor of Dr. Kendra Boggess, introduces the 2018 President’s Ball in celebration of the University’s 146th Anniversary. As a part of the Founders’ Day Celebration, the 2018 President’s Ball will be held at Concord University in the Jean & Jerry L. Beasley Student Center on Saturday, March 3.

Attendees will enjoy a plated formal dinner, cash bar, hors d’oeuvres, a professional photo booth and live entertainment that will be brought to the stage for an exciting and memorable night.

The Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and the Ball will be held from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.

This event which is presented through the Concord University Foundation, Inc. will benefit the University and its students by providing scholarships and supporting campus projects. The President’s Ball is open to the community, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and all friends of the University as they join together in celebration of the University’s founding and its contributions to southern West Virginia. Concord received its charter from the West Virginia Legislature on Feb. 28, 1872.

“We’re excited to bring this new tradition to campus as this event will provide us a perfect platform to bring all constituents together,” Dr. Boggess said. “It’s important that we as a campus community celebrate our history and progressively think of the direction we are heading in the future. For 146 years, Concord University has built a reputation that signifies quality educational outcomes not only in the surrounding communities but also in our state and across the globe.

“I look forward to connecting with our students, alums, faculty and staff, as well as many individuals in our communities, as we honor Concord University,” she said.

“The Office of Advancement is delighted to announce this new and exciting event to the community as we come together to celebrate the 146th Anniversary of the University,” stated Blake Farmer, Manager of University Advancement.

“Concord contributes ever so greatly to the growth and development of our communities here in southern West Virginia in innumerable ways. From the countless number of successful alums and the many academically gifted students that uphold the Concord name it truly is something to be proud of when you think about what all ‘The Campus Beautiful’ has done for each of us,” he said. “We anticipate that the President’s Ball will truly be a night that guests will never forget.”
