Concord Announces Changes in Undergraduate Fall Schedule for 2005

Athens, W. Va. – At the request of the Student Government Association, registration for classes for the fall semester at Concord University will be Friday, August 19 (rather than Tuesday, August 23) and classes will begin on Monday, August 22 (rather than Wednesday, August 24 as noted in the 2005-2007 academic catalog).

Reading day will be Tuesday, December 13 (rather than Thursday, December 15) and the University will conduct exams Wednesday, December 14 through Friday, December 16 and Monday, December 19 (rather than December 16 through 20). Fall commencement will be Monday, December 19 at 5 p.m. (rather than Tuesday, December 20).

Holidays for the fall will remain the same. Labor Day will be observed on Monday, September 5 and Thanksgiving recess will be Monday, November 21 through Friday, November 25.

According to Vice President and Academic Dean, Dr. Dean W. Turner, more than 650 undergraduate and graduate classes will be offered in Athens, Beckley and via distance delivery.

Cost per undergraduate credit hour is $160 for in-state students and $359 for out-of-state students, plus appropriate lab and technology fees; books are extra. Payment is due before the first day of class, and a late registration fee of $25 will be added beginning Monday, August 22 (first day of class).

First time enrollees should contact the University prior to the registration deadline.

Current Concord students in the Beckley area may register now through June 30 at the Beckley Center of Concord University, 219 North Kanawha Street and at the University's new location in the First Christian Church Education Center, 104 Prince Street, beginning July 1. (The University’s Beckley Center is moving.)

Beckley classes are taught either afternoons or evenings at various locations in Raleigh County.
