Grammy Award Winner to Return to Concord University Wednesday, December 7

Athens, W.Va. Barbara Bailey Hutchison—her voice has been compared to Sarah McLachlan, Shawn Colvin or Faith Hill. In addition, college students nationwide have voted her the "Best Solo Act,” "Best Acoustic Act,” "Best Musical Act” and "Best Female Performer.” Her voice has been described as fresh and powerful—with energy and strength in its simplicity.

Barbara’s voice is familiar to millions of television and radio listeners. The hundreds of commercials she has sung for McDonalds, Hallmark Cards and other national advertisers attest to her vocal prowess. She describes her music as "neo-folk.” While her music carries a message of tolerance and human rights, she is quick to show the humor of everyday life. Her show is always fresh, powerful and really quite funny.

Barbara Bailey Hutchison will bring her finely crafted songs and clever wit back to Concord University for a special holiday show on Wednesday, December 7. Her show begins at 9 p.m. in the Student Center State Room and is free to the public. It is sponsored by Concord's Student Activities Committee. For more information, please call 1-304-384-5311.
