SUMMARY:Light the Way: A Campus Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Awareness Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Counseling Center would like to invite students\, faculty\, and staff to come together for Light the Way\, a campus community walk in support of suicide prevention\, mental health awareness\, and the importance of belonging.\n\nLight the Way is an opportunity for our campus community to walk together in solidarity and remind one another that no one has to navigate difficult moments alone. Beginning at the Student Center\, we will walk together on the sidewalk to the Peace Poles directly behind Marsh Hall\, where we will pause to reflect and honor our commitment to mental health and wellness\, with a special word from Dr. Manjunath Burdekar. \n\nFollowing the walk\, we will gather back at the Student Center for light refreshments and tabling with resource information surrounding campus mental health resources and suicide prevention. \n \nWhether you are a student\, faculty member\, or staff member\, we invite you to join this opportunity for our campus community to join together as one in solidarity and support of mental health\, wellness\, and suicide prevention.\n \nStarting Location: Student Center (Suicide Prevention Month pins and bracelets will be available)\nWalk Ends: Campus Peace Poles to be followed with light refreshments at the Student Center\n\nWe hope you will join our campus community in an awareness walk as we Light the Way—together as students\, faculty\, and staff\, and together as a campus community committed to wellness\, connection\, and belonging.
