If you enjoy being creative and inspired, Concord University is the place to channel your creative energy and start a productive and fulfilling career in the Fine Arts!

Major in art, art education, or music. Achieve your career goals by developing your creative skills through art or music. An important dimension of the Department of Fine Arts activities is to stimulate a climate on the campus to promote artistic expression and creativity. Many of the co-curricular programs provided by the Department of Fine Arts meet these needs. In addition, the Artist Lecture Series brings professional musicians, actors, speakers, and artists to campus for performances and workshops.

Concord offers a variety of performance-based scholarships. Auditions are scheduled by appointment and should be completed no later than March 31st prior to the semester starting.

Instrumentalists are encouraged to prepare an audition similar to the WV All-State Band Requirements, which can be located on their website.

Vocalists should prepare two art songs: one in English, the other in a foreign language. An accompanist will be provided.

Pianists should prepare two classical or jazz pieces from contrasting periods of music.

For more information on audition requirements, available scholarships, and to schedule an audition, please contact Dr. Jacob Womack.
