Scholars of Distinction FAQs
Concord University offers competitive scholarships to first-year, degree-seeking students. Students who meet the minimum requirements below are eligible to compete to be a Scholar of Distinction at Concord University. Students who qualify will receive an invite beginning in November to register for the event.
How do I apply?
To be eligible to compete to be a Scholar of Distinction, you must:
- Apply for admission and be accepted to the University
- Submit official transcript showing high school GPA to admissions@concord.edu
- Submit official SAT/ACT test scores
What are the minimum requirements?
- Must have minimum 3.5 high school GPA
- Must have minimum ACT of 26 or SAT of 1240
- Must be admitted to Concord by Monday, January 26, 2026
Note: Not all students who meet the minimum requirements will receive competitive scholarships.
What is required if selected to compete?
- Provide a resume that includes any participation in school and community organizations, leadership positions, and awards or recognitions you have (have available the day of event)
- Concord University on-campus interview or arranged alternate interview
What are the deadlines?
- You must be admitted to Concord by Monday, January 26, 2026.
- You must submit the registration form by Monday, January 26, 2026. The link will be emailed to you beginning in November once your GPA and test scores are provided.
What happens after the registration form is submitted?
Students who are accepted to the University and complete the registration form by the deadline will be invited to campus on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 for an interview with a Concord University faculty or staff member. Students who are not able to attend in person due to physical restrictions should contact their Admissions counselor to set up an alternate interview. The day will consist of presentations from select departments, lunch, and the interview process.
If awarded a competitive scholarship, it will replace all previously awarded Concord scholarships.
How are recipients notified?
All participants will receive a phone call from their Admissions Counselor within a week of the event informing them of the status of the award.
What is the amount of the scholarship?
Chosen recipients will receive one of the scholarships below which are renewable for up to eight (8) semesters. Recipients are required to live on campus and be enrolled full-time (minimum of twelve (12) hours per semester).
