Biography

Before joining the faculty at Concord University in 2024, Dr. Aaron Burton spent 11 years teaching for Tiffin University where he was an Associate Professor of Communication. While at Tiffin, he also served in various administrative positions including Assistant Dean of Arts & Sciences, Chair of Humanities, and Director of Internships. Prior to joining the faculty at Tiffin University, he taught for nine years at Bowling Green State University and two years as an adjunct professor for Owens Community College. He has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in communication and media studies.

Dr. Burton has written the book Narrative Rhetorical Analysis of Six Hollywood Films About Christ, 1912-2004: The Romanticization of Sacrificial Death published by Mellen Press (2014). He has presented his research at national, regional, and state conferences. He served on the editorial board for the Ohio Communication Journal and was elected to a two-year term as Northwest District Representative for the Ohio Communication Association. He also served as an interest group chair for the Central States Communication Association.
