Biography
Drew Greene starts his second season on the men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in 25-26.
Greene came to Concord after spending the 2023-24 season at Division I IU-Indianapolis, formerly IUPUI. He was originally hired on as the director or operations for the Jaguars, but was promoted to a full-time assistant.
Although Greene has spent the last few years in the Midwest, he is familiar with Appalachia having played at former Mountain East Conference school UVa.-Wise from 2019-21. Greene hails from High Point, North Carolina.
Greene helped guide the Mountain Lions to a 17-11 record this past winter as CU finished fourth in the MEC standings. With Greene on the sidelines, three players earned All-MEC honors. Kollin Tolbert was a first team selection, Corey Boston made the All-MEC Second Team and Rene Diop was an All-MEC Honorable Mention performer along with being voted as the MEC Defensive Player of the Year.
Tolbert was selected as the MEC Player of the Year, and later in the postseason was named an NABC All-American with the help of Greene’s coaching.
After graduating in just two years from UVa.-Wise, Greene went on to play two graduate years of basketball at two NAIA schools, Bethel (Ind.) and Milligan (Tenn.). In addition to playing at each NAIA school, Greene was a part-time assistant coach at each stop.
Greene holds his undergraduate degree in business administration from UVa.-Wise, a master’s in business administration from Bethel and a graduate degree in coaching and sports management from Milligan.
