Program Information

The Appalachian Studies minor is a multidisciplinary program that includes courses from a variety of departments. The curriculum consists of 15 credit hours, and will provide students with a deeper understanding of the region, its environment, history, economy, politics, and cultural traditions. Students who complete their minor will be able to enhance their major field of study by addressing contemporary issues particular to Appalachia and its relationship to mainstream America.
