CONCORD UNIVERSITY PRESENTS BEST OF THE GUESTS
ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University Department of Fine Arts and Communication presents Best of the Guests: A Selection of Concord University’s Previous Visiting Artists, an exhibition featuring a selection of eleven previous visiting artists who have impacted the thinking of Concord’s students, faculty, and community.
This exhibit will be on display in the Arthur Butcher Art Gallery in the Alexander Fine Arts Center Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., until April 7. Jamey Biggs, professor of Art and director of the Butcher Art Gallery, will offer a gallery talk and demonstration of techniques shared by the artists included in the show on March 28 at 6 p.m.
“Multiple guest artists visit Concord each year presenting exhibitions, lectures, and technique demonstrations. Concord’s visiting artist tradition allows students and community members to interact with highly successful artists and craftspeople,” said Biggs.
The Best of the Guests exhibition includes works of sculpture, ceramics, and painting by the following artists: Jen Allen, Tom Bartel, Rachel Clark, Israel Davis, Judith Duff, Brett Kern, Michael Kline, Courtney Martin, Shozo Mitchikawa, Robert “Boomer” Moore, Robby Moore, Eric Pardue, Justin Rothshank, and Brad Schwieger.
