THE CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR VETERAN STUDENT SUCCESS PRESENTS “9/11 NEVER FORGET”

ATHENS, W.Va. – In memory of the victims of 9/11, the Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success presents “9/11 Never Forget” on Thursday, September 7 at 10:00 AM, in the Fellowship Hall at University Point. The event will feature guest speaker Dr. Peter Berardi, our National Anthem performed by the ConChords (chamber singers ensemble), and presentation of colors by the Pikeview High School JROTC. This event is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.

A career Naval Special Warfare Officer (SEAL), Dr. Berardi retired from the United States Navy in 2012 after 23 years in uniform, having deployed overseas seven times and conducting exercises and operations in over 30 countries worldwide. He was also a 9/11 First Responder arriving on scene at 1 World Trade Center at approximately 1500. He is the CEO and founder of SOF-ONE, a Leadership and Team Development consultancy company. Dr. Berardi also works as a Research Consultant with RAND Corp and is a Senior Fellow and Adjunct Professor at the University of South Florida, Tampa. He is also an Adjunct at St Leo University, Dade City, Florida. Personal decorations and awards include the Bronze Star, two Joint Defense Meritorious Service Medals, five Navy Commendation Medals, four Navy Achievement Medals and numerous unit and deployment recognitions.
