Option 1
- Go to www.concord.edu and select the “Students” tab at the top of the page.
- Select the option under Quick Links that says “Blackboard”.
Option 2
- Go to www.concord.edu and select the “MyConcordU” tab at the top of the page.
- Log in using your Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Select the option under the Shortcuts menu that says “Blackboard”.

- Institution Page
- Access the Institution Page, which contains important information such as Blackboard and Technical Support links, student services and organizations, and academic career and financial services.
- This page is continually updated with new links that serve Concord University students.
- Profile Page
- Click on your name to access your Profile Page.
- Edit the icon associated with your name to change your profile picture within your courses.
- Add or edit information presented on this page.
- Global Notification Settings
- Access the Global Notification Settings to adjust your notification preferences.
- Customize settings for stream notifications, email notifications, and push notifications.
- Choose the types of notifications you would like to receive.
- Toggle between stream, email, and push notifications to adjust settings.
- Click the save button to save your preferences.
- Activity Stream
- View your Activity Stream, which displays the notification types you selected on the previous page.
- Courses
- Click on the “Courses” navigation option to see the courses you are currently enrolled in.
- Favorite a course to add it to your favorites list for quick access.
- Search for a course or filter your courses to find a specific course you’re registered for.
- Use the drop-down arrow in the center navigation options to choose between upcoming courses, current courses, or previously registered courses.
- Toggle between list view and tile view. Tile view displays the course banner design if available.
- Calendar
- Access your Calendar, which displays important dates and assignment reminders.
- The calendar consolidates information from all of your courses into one calendar.
- Add new events to your calendar.
- Toggle between display options such as your schedule or due dates.
- View the calendar in day or month view.
- Messages
- Access the Messages option to create a message for one of your registered courses.
- Easily communicate with your courses through this feature.
- Grades
- Check your Grades overview.
- The Grades navigation option provides a quick overview of your grades for the courses you’re registered in.
- Conveniently keep track of multiple grades for multiple courses in one place.
- Assist
- Access the Assist navigation option to explore additional services provided by your institution.
- Tools
- Access the Tools navigation option to view relevant Blackboard tools that you have access to.
- Sign Out
- To sign out, click on the Sign Out navigation option. These instructions provide an overview of the Blackboard Ultra navigation options.

- Accessing the Calendar
- Log into Blackboard Ultra and select the navigation menu item titled “Calendar.”
- OR Alternative Step 1: Accessing Course-Specific Calendar: If you want course-specific information, select the course you want to access. Then, click on the option for “Calendar.”
- Viewing Calendar Options
- The “Calendar” page will display your calendar.
- You have different view options available.
- You can choose to see your schedule, due dates, and different views like day and month.
- Viewing Due Dates
- Selecting “Due Dates” will give you an overview of upcoming assignments and their due dates.
- You can see the dates when assignments are due.
- Clicking on a specific assignment will provide more information about it, including any attached rubric.
- Switching to Schedule View
- Let’s switch to the “Schedule” view of the calendar.
- This view allows you to see your assignments and other important information on specific dates when they’re due.
- You can toggle between a day view or a month view, depending on your preference.
- Clicking on an assignment will provide more information about it.
- Adding Personal Events
- You can also add your own events to your personal calendar.
- By doing so, the event will be added to your calendar within Blackboard Ultra.
- Using Course-Specific Calendar
- The course-specific calendar provides similar options as discussed earlier.
- The main difference is that this calendar will display information related only to the selected course.
- It helps you stay organized and keep track of upcoming assignments specific to that course.
By following these steps, you can effectively use the calendar feature in Blackboard Ultra to stay organized, keep track of due dates, and manage your assignments.

- Logging in and Accessing the Course
- Log into Blackboard and select your desired course.
- Accessing Rubric from Gradebook
- One way to access an assignment’s rubric is by selecting the “Gradebook” option.
- Find the assignment for which you’d like to see the rubric.
- Checking Rubric Association
- If your instructor has associated a rubric with the assignment, it will display a message indicating that the item is graded with a rubric.
- Selecting this text will show you the rubric for the assignment.
- The rubric will contain specific criteria related directly to the assignment type.
- Accessing Rubric from Course Content
- Another way to access the assignment’s rubric is by going back to your course content.
- Locate the assignment within the course.
- Viewing Assignment Details
- Select the option to view the assignment.
- Check if there’s an associated rubric for the assignment.
- Reviewing Rubric Details
- From the assignment page, you can review the details of the rubric.
- Take note of the criteria that need to be met in order to receive full credit for your assignment.
By following these steps, you can effectively access and review the rubric associated with an assignment in Blackboard. The rubric provides specific criteria that your instructor has set for evaluating your work and helps you understand what is expected to receive full credit.

- Accessing Discussions
- Select your course in Blackboard Ultra.
- Once you’re in your course, there are a couple of ways to access discussions.
- The quickest way is to select the “Discussions” tab at the top of your screen. This displays a list of all discussions within the course, including those with new activity. The blue icon next to a discussion title indicates new activity. Click on a discussion title to open the discussion thread. In the discussion thread, you can view grading information, read through the thread, and refresh the page.
- Alternatively, you can access a discussion through the “Content” tab. This is the default page upon entering your course. You can find the discussion within the course content. Use this method if the course content needs to be completed in a specific order.
- Creating a Discussion Response
- From the discussion thread page, start typing your response to the discussion topic.
- Once you’re happy with your response, click “Respond” to post it.
- Replying to Someone Else’s Post
- Find the discussion post to which you want to respond.
- Click the “Reply” option below that post.
- Type your message as a direct response.
- Click “Post” to submit your reply.
Additional Options
- You have several additional options within the discussion interface.
- You can show hidden discussion posts if applicable.
- Clicking on a participant’s name allows you to view the content they’ve posted and responded to.
- Clicking on your own name quickly shows you all of your posts.
By following these steps, you can easily create new discussion responses and reply to other participants within Blackboard Ultra.

- Locating Assignments Needing Submission
- Locate the course for which you want to submit an assignment.
- There are a few ways to find assignments that require submission.
- Option 1: Go to the “Gradebook” tab. Here, you can see which assignments still need to be submitted, along with their due dates. You can also check if the assignment has been graded.
- Option 2: Go to the “Content” tab. As you progress through the course content, you’ll find assignments that require submission. Click on the assignment you want to submit.
- Viewing Assignment Details
- On the assignment page, you can view information such as the due date and any attached rubric.
- Click “View Assignment” for a more detailed view of all assignment-related information.
- Submitting Your Work
- On the submission pane, you have various options.
- If you’ve already typed your assignment in a Word document, click “Attachment.”
- Locate the file and upload it.
- You may be asked to edit the display name.
- Once you’re satisfied, click “Save.”
- Reviewing and Submitting Your Assignment
- After the upload is complete, you’ll see a preview of your assignment in the submission pane.
- You can also type additional information, if needed.
- Preview your document to ensure everything looks correct.
- Click “Submit” to submit your assignment.
- Confirm your submission when prompted.
- Confirmation and Recordkeeping
- After submitting, you’ll receive a confirmation ticket.
- Optionally, you can download this confirmation document for your records.
- The downloadable document contains information related to your assignment submission.
- Viewing Submitted Work and Grades
- Clicking on the assignment will show your submitted work, along with the rubric and any feedback from your instructor during the grading process.
- You can also revisit the “Gradebook” at any time to view all assignments, their submission status, and grades.
By following these steps, you can successfully submit your assignments in Blackboard Ultra and keep track of your submissions and grades.

- Accessing Grades
- Log into Blackboard Ultra.
- Select the navigation option titled “Grades.”
- Alternative Step 1: Accessing Grades via Navigation Menu In the navigation menu, click on “Courses.” Select the course for which you want to see the grades.
- Viewing Overview of Grades
- The “Grades” page will display a list of your currently enrolled courses and organizations.
- It will provide an overview of your grades for each course.
- You can see important information such as the assignment name, due date, status, and if the assignment has been graded.
- Clicking “View All Work” for a specific course will show you all available assignments for that course.
- You can view the assignment details, including any feedback from your instructor.
- Analyzing Course Performance
- On the “Grades” page, you can get an overview of how you’re doing in a course by clicking on the pie chart icon.
- This will provide a visual representation of your performance.
- Accessing Grades within a Course
- Within the selected course, locate and select the navigation tab for “Gradebook.”
- The “Gradebook” tab will present you with the same information as before.
- You can view assignment names, due dates, statuses, grades, and instructor feedback.
- Clicking on an individual assignment will provide more detailed information, such as an attached rubric if applicable.
- Clicking on an assignment, such as a discussion, will take you directly to that specific assignment.
- Regularly Checking Grades
- Use this information to regularly check your grades for all your enrolled courses.
- It’s important to stay updated on your performance.
By following these steps, you can easily access and review your grades in Blackboard Ultra for your enrolled courses.
