Join us for Family Weekend at Concord University — three days packed with fun, food, and Mountain Lion pride! This is the perfect opportunity to spend time with your student, connect with other families, and enjoy the beautiful fall season in Athens, WV.
Friday, September 26 – Evening in the Valley & ROAR Walk to the Game!
- Registration & Check-In – Begins at 4:00 PM at the Student Center Welcome Center
- Pick up your welcome materials and receive more information about the weekend’s activities, including local attractions and events to explore during your visit.
- Picnic Dinner – Provided by Aramark (Families pay at event; students may use dining plan)
- Popcorn, Cotton Candy & ICEE Machines
- S’mores in the Valley
- Music
- ROAR Walk to cheer on our Mountain Lions – Begins at 6:30 PM
- Volleyball Game vs Frostburg State – 7:00 PM at the Leslie R. and Ruby Webb Carter Center
Saturday, September 27 – Adventure & Game Day!
- Morning Hike at Pipestem State Park (McKeever Lodge)
- Hike Name: Lake Shore Hike (Easy to Moderate)
- Limited Transportation Provided: 28 spots available on the vans. Reserve a spot using our online form.
- Departure Time: 9:00 AM from the Student Center
- Nursing Facility Tours with Nursing Students – begins at 10:00 AM
- Brunch with Dr. Meighen & Faculty – 10:30 AM-11:30 AM in the 1872 Room (Families pay at event)
- Tailgating – Begins at 10:30 AM at Callaghan Stadium Parking Lot
- Families are invited to set up their own tailgate and join in the pre-game fun!
- Bounce Houses, Kids Stations, Food Truck, & More! – Begins at 10:30 AM at Callaghan Stadium Parking Lot
- Games & Activities – Begins at 10:30 on the Tennis Courts
- Pickleball, Cornhole, Spike Ball & more
- Football Game vs West Liberty – 1:00 PM at Callaghan Stadium
- Adult tickets are $10 and child tickets are $5, you can buy tickets in advance or at the gate
- Concord University students can attend for FREE by showing their student ID
- Esports Game Night – 5-7 PM on the 3rd floor of Rahall Technology Center
- Games include Smash Bros, Mario Kart, & Fortnite!
- Trivia Hosted by APO – 7-9 PM in the Fine Arts Auditorium
Sunday, September 28 – Brunch & Soccer Sunday!
- Dining Hall Brunch – 10:30 AM-12:30 PM (Families pay at event; students may use dining plan)
- Women’s Soccer Game vs WVU State – 1:00 PM
- Men’s Soccer Game vs Davis & Elkins – 4:00 PM
