We are certified to accept applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State.

Our office is located in ADMIN 319.

The Concord University Passport Services program will no longer accept appointments after April 30th, 2024. Thank you for letting us assist you with your travel needs!

As of December 18th 2023, processing times are as follows:

Routine: 6-8 weeks

Expedited: 2-3 weeks

  • An appointment is required and must be made at least one day in advance.
  • Appointments are available Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 3:30pm
  • The process takes approximately 15-20 minutes
  • Schedule an appointment with us by e-mailing passports@concord.edu

Please have all required documentation with you at your appointment; your application cannot be processed without these:

  • Form DS-11 ​(completed, but not signed)
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship (original birth certificate + photocopy)
  • Proof of Identity (original driver’s license + photocopy)
  • Two separate payments* (check or money order, see Fee Chart)
  • One recent 2″x2″ color photo (photo services nearby at CVS Pharmacy)
    *One check/money order made to out the U.S. Department of State
    and One check/money order made out to Concord University

Please Note: If you choose to print your own application beforehand, be sure to print one-sided and do NOT sign until in the presence of an acceptance agent!

Payment Instructions: The application fee is paid directly to the Department of State. The Execution/Acceptance fee is paid directly to the acceptance facility. Two separate payments are required. (Effective 1/22/2023)

Optional Fees

Expedite Fee 1-2 Day Delivery File Search Fee
Paid per applications, in addition to required fees. Provides faster processing than routine service. Paid per application for 1-2 day delivery of an issued passport book from the Department of State to the customer. Only applies to mailing addresses within the United States. Not valid for passport cards. A file search is necessary when an applicant is unable to present evidence of U.S. citizenship or verification of a previously issues U.S. Passport or Consular Report of Birth Abroad. Applicant must submit Form DS-11 and a written request for a file search.

​Q: Is this service available to those who are not affiliated with Concord University?
A: Yes! Our services are available to anyone who needs a passport!

Q: Is your facility handicapped-accessible?
A: Yes it is! If needed, you can get to our office by using the elevator between the Science and Administration buildings. The elevator can be accessed from the back of the buildings; we are located in Admin 319.

Q: What is the difference between the passport book and the passport card?
A: The card can be used only for land/sea travel to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. The book can be used for travel to any destination, by any method of travel.

Q: Are notarized copies of citizenship evidence accepted?
A: No, only original or certified copies are acceptable. Citizenship evidence will be returned to you via First Class mail. For more info on required documentation, visit the official Department of State website.

Q: Can I track the status of my passport application?
A: Absolutely! To do so, visit passportstatus.state.gov

Q: How long does it take to receive my passport?
A: Routine – 10 to 13 weeks; Expedited: 7 to 9 weeks (as of 3/24/2023)

Q: What payment methods are accepted?
A: We can only accept checks or money orders. We cannot accept cash, debit, or credit.

Q: Do you accept walk-ins?
A: No, we do not. Passport services are available by appointment only.
