For the Undecided Student, the Career Pathways at Concord University encourage exploration of the opportunities available in a large area of interest while staying on track for degree completion. By the end of the first year, students will be prepared to transition into any degree program at CU that falls under their chosen Career Pathway!

The Arts & Humanities examine aspects of human society and culture, including history, literature, philosophy, religion and the performing and visual arts. From writing, publishing, editing, archiving, historic preservation, museum curation and direction, and working in schools to acting, direction, arts management, musical theater, graphic design, and advertising, the Humanities offer a wide range of career opportunities and preparation for graduate and professional school, including law. The Arts & Humanities Career Pathway at CU is designed to encourage students to explore these opportunities and choose a degree path that suits their individual interests and skills.

The Arts & Humanities Career Pathway will prepare students to transition into any of the following degree programs at CU:

  • Advertising/Graphic Design
  • English
  • History
  • Music – Interdisciplinary
  • Studio Art

The business industry is incredibly diverse and offers a variety of career opportunities. From the more traditional business topics of accounting, finance, management, marketing and advertising, public relations, and hospitality, to more creative business topics like radio, television, web design, advertising design, print media, development and promotion, as well as preparation for graduate and professional school, the possibilities are exciting! The Business Career Pathway at CU is designed to encourage students to explore these possibilities and choose a degree path that suits their individual interests and skills.

The Business Career Pathway will prepare students to transition into any of the following degree programs at CU:

  • Multimedia Communication

The field of Education is ideal for individuals who are interested in working with and teaching people. From classroom teaching, school administration, and preparation for graduate and professional school, there are several paths to choose from! The Education Career Pathway at CU is designed to encourage students to explore these possibilities and choose a degree path that suits their individual interests and skills.

The Education Career Pathway will prepare students to transition into any of the following degree programs at CU:

  • Education – Elementary K-6
  • Education – English 5-Adult
  • Education – General Science 5-Adult
  • Education – Music PreK-Adult
  • Education – Social Studies 5-Adult
  • Education – Special Education Multi-Categorical K-6 and 5-Adult

If you are interested in the Sciences, whether the Biological Sciences (i.e. studying life and living organisms) or Physical Science (i.e. studying inanimate natural objects), or Computer Science, the fields of sciences and technology are incredibly diverse and offer a variety of career opportunities. From working as a lab technician, environmental consultant, pharmaceutical sales representative, state or national park ranger, computer programmer, or software developer to preparing for medical, dental, pharmacy, veterinary, or chiropractic school, the possibilities are exciting! The Sciences & Technology Career Pathway at CU is designed to encourage students to explore these possibilities and choose a degree path that suits their individual interests and skills.

From conservation and natural resource management, urban and regional planning, economic development, community and social service work, and mental health work, to working with non-profits or local, state, or the federal government, broadcast meteorology, family services, substance abuse, and preparation for graduate and professional school, there are several paths to choose from! The Social Sciences Career Pathway at CU is designed to encourage students to explore these possibilities and choose a degree path that suits their individual interests and skills.
