Concord Esports

Concord Esports logoIn 2019, Concord University was the first public university in the state of West Virginia to develop an Esports program. Ever since, Concord Esports has been a powerhouse within Call of Duty, finishing the first two seasons in the top 3! We also finished in the top 20 during our 2022 season. The 2021-2022 seasons were the first seasons where all our teams made playoffs. Our goal is to continue that trend every season!

We currently compete in Overwatch 2, Valorant, Call of Duty, Smash Bros Ultimate, Rocket League, NBA 2K, FIFA, and Apex Legends. We are getting back into League of Legends in 2023, and will be introducing Madden and Halo for the first time in 2023.

Concord Esports has a Varsity facility and a JV facility. In the Varsity facility, players get their own PCs and a practice room within the facility. In the JV facility, players share with each other, having a minimum of 12 PCs in the room.

Scholarships start out at $2,000 a year and can go up toward $5,000 year; the best of the best can go even higher than that! For more information, please read our brochure or reach out to our Esports director, Austin Clay.

Concord’s Varsity Esports Program is funded by donations. If you would like to support this opportunity for our students, please contact the Office of Advancement at advancement@concord.edu, or call 304-384-5119. Our success begins with you.
